Once we have produced your Garden Design then we will need to consider how to get your garden built. There are basically two options which are to get a Landscaping Company to build it for you or to Do-It-Yourself. Here are some factors you may want to consider when making this decision.

Landscaping Company

• Good professional landscapers should build you a high quality garden to industry standards which will last over time.
• There should be some guarantees if things go wrong.
• They should take the hassle out of the project, managing men, materials, and equipment.
• The garden should be built relatively quickly.
• Disruption and upheaval should be kept to a minimum.
• This is your most expensive option as a landscaping ompany will have to pay for labour, overheads, and make a profit.
• All but the smallest will charge you VAT.
• You might consider asking for the garden to be built in phases enabling you to spread the cost over time.
• There might be something you can reasonably do yourself such as the planting.

Do-It-Yourself

• This option will save you a great deal of money, perhaps in the region of 60-70% of using a Landscaping Company.
• You will need some basic construction skills.
• If you are learning these skills as you go then you are bound to make some mistakes, which you will either have to put up with or redo the work.
• The build will take much longer to complete. If you are doing the work single handed at weekends and in the evenings then a project which would take a professional two man team three weeks will probably take you at least sixteen weeks.
• You will have to spend time researching where to source your materials and equipment at the best prices.
• You are on your own if things go wrong.
